Bangkok--6 Sep--SOFITEL BANGKOK SUKHUMVIT
On Wednesday 14 September 2016 from 5:30pm – 10pm, S Gallery at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit welcomes art lovers' to a new exhibition, 'Paradoxes' by Kostar.
The solo exhibition is a showcase for the work of talented French artist, Kostar, whom was born in the 70's in Paris. He became renowned in the 1990s for street art, painting walls on various surfaces such as trains, trucks, and subways in the USA,Europe, Asia. He also appeared on for TV shows, sports events and worked for well-known brands.
While based in Beijing, his artworks were exhibited in Chinese and French galleries. During this time his works began expressing humor and positive vibes, like his PSCIYL project: Put Some Color into Your Life.
Kostar has given urban art a whole new definition. This revolutionary artist moves us through dynamic images, and thought provoking phrases; he takes a leap of faith and chooses the path of passion and the unknown, rather than safety and conformity.
Kostar is constantly evolving with new materials such as neon, sculpture, photography and film. What remains constant is his razor sharp wit and incisive humour.
At the opening night of the exhibition, guests will enjoy a welcome cocktail and light canapes in the lobby as our DJ creates an artistic atmosphere. Art lovers and VIP's will then be invited to view Kostar's works in S Gallery.
Mr. William Haandrikman, General Manager of Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, said recently, "Kostar's work, his passion, and his art act as a mirror of society, giving us a glimpse of what is taboo and thoughts that dare not be verbalized. I am sure art lovers will be challenged and delighted by this distinctly contemporary work on show at S Gallery, the latest in our series of exhibitions showcasing emerging and established Thai and French artists."
Kostar's colorful urban art will be on show at S Gallery until 14 December 2016.
