Royal Cliff's deVine Wine Club has successfully hosted a remarkable wine dinner "Cantine Talamonti – Best Gift for Wine Lovers" at the Royal Grill Room & Wine Cellar – Excellence & Heritage on 9 September 2016. DeVine Wine Club members and wine lovers were contented with a delicious 5-course menu of excellent European cuisine prepared by Royal Cliff's Executive Chef Walter Thenisch with premium wines from Talamonti, one of Italy's leading boutique estates.
Over 50 guests were warmly welcomed by Mr. Prem Calais, General Manager of the Royal Cliff Hotels Group at the pre-dinner cocktail reception where a delectable selection of deluxe canapes were accompanied by Prosecco Cuvee 1821 D.O.C. at The Bar of Royal Cliff Beach Hotel.
The sumptuous five-course menu which followed at the Royal Grill Room and Wine Cellar featured an appetizing Raw Yellowfin Tuna Ravioli Panzanella served with a Trebì Trebbiano D'Abruzzo D.O.C 2015. Guests then enjoyed the Butter-Poached Maine Lobster Tail wonderfully paired with a Trabocchetto Pecorino Colline Pescaresi I.G.T. 2014 and mouthwatering Oven-Roasted Galician Rib Eye Steak served with the Modà Montepulciano d'Abruzzo D.O.C. 2014. The night ended with the finest selection of Italian D.O.P. Cheeses along with The Saggi Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2013 and Chef Frederic's Deconstructed Tiramisu served with Castello del Poggio Moscato I.G.T. NV
Aside from the delectable meal, guests also had the opportunity to enjoy the personal discourse of our guest speaker, Mr. Salvatore Campione, the International Sales Manager for Asia Pacific & Middle East of Azienda Vinicola Talamonti and an expert wine-taster from Bangkok. He was born in Italy's southernmost region, Sicily which is famous for its near-perfect vine-growing conditions, he began helping his family make family wine at the age of 12.
The deVine Wine Club was launched on April 28, 2001 as the visible face of the resort's enthusiasm for promoting wines and hosting wine-related events. Today, membership has grown substantially and it is now Asia's leading wine club which hosts popular gala dinners.
