Ministry of Industry shows confidence in the Thai corrugated packaging industry as the sector value increases and reflects the growth index of Thai industry for both exports and local consumption. 4 partners join force to promote "CCE South East Asia - Thailand 2016" for the first time in ASEAN at BITEC from 21 - 23 September 2016 to enhance the regional corrugated and folding carton industry.
During the opening ceremony of "CCE South East Asia – Thailand 2016" organized by Mack Brooks Exhibitions Ltd and supported by Thai Corrugated Packaging Association, Thai Screen Printing & Graphic Imaging Association, Thai Pulp and Paper Industries Association and Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). Ms. Nisakorn Jungjaroentham, Deputy Permanent Secretary - Ministry of Industry remarked "Ministry of Industry would like to speed up the economic growth for all sectors. The corrugated and folding carton industry plays a part in the global industrial community as it can indicate the consumer responses on their product selection. Whether it be small businesses, local or international industries, they all focus on the corrugated packages as these can develop and add product value by multiple folds. The corrugated packaging industry enjoys annual growth, especially the packaging designs and folding cartons which are constantly developed and supported by R&D activities to enhance production quality, colourful and elegant look, uniqueness, product values, recyclability and optimization of customer satisfaction.
Related organizations and associations join forces to support and promote the development of the industry through the CCE exhibition enabling producers to meet and experience first-hand the latest machinery in the market. The first of its kind in ASEAN taking place from 21 – 23 September 2016 at BITEC, this exhibition will be one of the constant driving forces for the regions corrugated and folding carton industry as well as demonstrating Thailand as a production hub for the sector.
Mr. Michael Wilton, Exhibition Director, Mack Brooks Exhibitions Asia, noted "CCE South East Asia -Thailand 2016 is a platform that the corrugated and folding carton industry will use as it showcases the latest innovations and cutting edge technology covering the whole production process. CCE will help producers meet the regional demands ensure they optimize their production efficiency. The support from various associations demonstrate the need for an industry meeting place like CCE. The exhibition will help
the industry grow and develop whilst at the same time promote Thailand as the regional one-stop service to corrugated and folding carton industry."
Mr. Ravi Kasemsant, President of Thai Corrugated Packaging Association, reported the overall situation of corrugated packaging industry that the growth rate is constant and the supplies can serve all industries. He added that this industry is heading towards Corrugated 4.0 to support the upcoming Industry 4.0 era of manufacturing industries in Thailand and to welcome the AEC era while upgrading corrugated packaging industry to global standard.

The support towards "CCE South East Asia - Thailand 2016" would promote growth in terms of trade and investment volume for corrugated packaging industry so they can get new marketing channels and engage in business negotiations while encouraging the manufacturers or suppliers to offer quality products and serve the trend of customers. Moreover, Thai Corrugated Packaging Association is ready to collaborate With government to upgrade production standards in line with government policies.
Mr. Montri Mahaplerkpong, President of Thai Pulp and Paper Industries Association, remarked the readiness of Thai industrialists from upstream to downstream levels covers from reforestation to pulping processes to manufacture paper and other hygienic products such as paper for packaging, hygienic diaper and fibre for textile industry. Moreover, paper can be made into packages that add value to products of Thailand and across the region. When it comes to corrugated paper industry, Thailand has the highest competitive advantages in ASEAN in terms of quantity and quality. The pulp and paper of Thailand can serve local demands and be exported to other regions in the world.
The corrugated packaging industry has seen the constant growth over the past 5 years. This growth is connected to the paper industry which enjoys increasing demands for paper packages. Additionally, the changing consumer behaviours affect many key industries such as F&B, automotive, medical and healthcare as they demand more environmental friendly packages which requires corrugated and paper packages. Our support will further promote the confidence key players such as Bobst, TCY, British Converting Solutions and
SANSIN who will showcase machinery, technologies and equipment at "CCE South East Asia - Thailand 2016"in South East Asia.
Mrs. Jaruwan Suwannasat, Director of Exhibitions & Events Department, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) said that "TCEB as a government organization that has obligation to boost the potential of competition and drive MICE industry, is pleased to support The first CCE South East Asia – Thailand2016 in ASEAN would be a significant platform for business negotiations among local and international stakeholders. Therefore, the demands for corrugated packaging products in this region would be perfectly served while increasing the revenues for Thai economy."
TCEB has the objective to support international marketing, in order to increase the number of qualified buyers to exhibitions. We expect this exhibition will draw attention from the leading investors, top buyers and entrepreneurs from other countries to Thailand. There will be over 2,680 trade visitors to participate next year. There will be investment and business negotiation that helps Thailand to be the MICE business center of this region that leading to world-class success. We are confident that this event will be an integral part of helping to drive Thailand's MICE industry to meet 2017's target, Thailand expects to welcome 1,109,000 international business travelers, generating revenue of 101 billion baht.
