The scientist and entrepreneur won two Gold Stevie® Awards as "Innovator of the Year" for his sustainable vision of water usage, and as "Energy Innovation of the Year" for his water desalination technology that uses no energy
The award ceremony took place at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Rome. On the occasion, Guillermo Carey, received the awards on behalf Fernando Fischmann. The New York Post described these awards as the "Oscars for business".
Crystal Lagoons Chairman and Founder Fernando Fischmann earned two Gold Stevie® Awards in the Annual International Business Awards for "Innovator of the Year" and for "Energy Industry Innovation of the Year."
Considered "the Oscars of the business world" which "singles out the good business leaders" around the world, Fernando Fischmann, Founder and President of Crystal Lagoons, now joins the ranks of Stevie® Awards winners, including Steve Jobs of Apple, Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Alan Mulally of Ford Motor Company.
Fernando Fischmann was named the "Innovator of the Year" for his sustainable vision for water usage and earned the "Energy Industry Innovation of the Year" for his water desalination technology that uses no energy and that aims to solve some of the global problems of energy and water scarcity.
This year's awards received more than 3,800 nominations from 60 countries, and Fischmann was chosen as the person who has contributed the most to innovation, with the Cisco Systems taking second place.
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 executives worldwide who participated in the judging process from May through early August. The judging panel included representatives from Nike, DHL, HSBC, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, American Express and others.
The judges made tremendously positive comments about the scientist, such as:

In less than seven years, the multinational innovation company founded by Fischmann and known for creating the "World's Top Amenity," has grown to 15 offices worldwide and boasts a portfolio of more than 400 projects in different stages of development across 60 countries.
In Fischmann has received more than 20 awards, including the "Best New Business" award, the "Keys to Miami" from the Beacon Council, the "Innovation Award" from Florida's Governor, two Guinness World Records, and he is the only executive to have received awards for "Best Entrepreneur," "Best Innovator" and "Best Businessman."
Fischmann has developed more than 1,500 patents in 160 countries that have changed the lifestyle of people worldwide. Today, his scientific efforts are focused on the development of a wide variety of industrial applications that solve global problems, such as energy, water scarcity and environmental degradation.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for "crowned," the awards gathered more than 330 executives from over 30 nations at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Rome, Italy. The 13th Annual International Business Awards presented to the winners at a gala awards banquet at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Rome, Italy on October 21st. The Gold Stevie® Awards were created by R.S. Owens, the same manufacturers as Hollywood Oscars.
