This expansion reflects the company's confidence in high potential of the industrial and logistics sectors in northern region that continues to attract foreign investments, especially from China.
Mr. Virapan Pulges, Managing Director of TICON Group, a leader in developing the high quality industrial properties in Thailand, said, "TICON has seen a positive economic and industrial growth in Northern provinces for certain periods of time. The region has now become an important region of Thailand's economy by measuring the growing of Gross Regional Product (GRP) which are in line to the growing of consumer products, retail business, construction materials. In addition, the Government has entered into a program of the Greater Mekong Sub-Regional Economic Cooperation (GMS-EC), which includes Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. These factors could have an impact on investment for developing the distribution center.
We have been conducting a research study on the potential of strategic locations of upper Northern provinces, and recently decided to buy a 140 rais of land in Lamphun in order to develop a new logistics park named TPARK Lamphun in 2014. The location has a potentialto accommodate growth of many factories within Northern Region Industrial Estate 1 and 2.
It also provides a quick link to road networks that make transportation and distribution of goods between Northern provinces more convenient, thus making it an ideal hub for efficient distribution of goods in the Northern Region and its neighboring countries such as Myanmar, Laos and Southern China, etc."
He continued, "TICON Group also has future expansion plans to develop more of logistics facilities in Northern provinces as we see a very positive feedback from customers in industrial and logistics sectors. The region is expected to enjoy lucrative economic and industrial growth in the next 3-5 years, taking into account several positive factors concerning the development of logistics networks by the government sector as well as more tangible
sub-regional co-operations. With a rising trend in Chinese foreign investment in Lamphun in recent years, we believe TPARK Lamphun will grow promisingly as planned."

(TPARK), said, "With an investment of more than 1.5 billion baht, the construction work of TPARK Lamphun has been completed and initially operational since early 2016. We expect to top up our warehouse space for lease to a total of 97,860 square meters, with the timeline for finishing the whole project in 2018. There will be different sizes of the warehouses to choose from 840 – 2,291 square meters, to meet specific needs of each customer whose businesses are in consumer products, modern trade, construction materials and logistic providers, which are booming in Northern provinces. Now, a certain number of customers have already started operating inside TPARK Lamphun while many potential customers continue to show their interests in the project as it is situated in a strategic logistics location, very useful for diverse industries in the
Northern region. It also supports the production of factories in industrial estates in surrounding areas, most of which are electronic products.
The most significant strengths of TPARK Lamphun include its strategic location on the Highway No. 11 (Lampang-Chiang Mai) which is only 10 kilometers away from Chiang Mai's Ring Road 3 near Northern Region Industrial Estate 1 and 2, Sahaphat Group Industrial Park as well as nearby factories and Chaing Mai International Airport.
