Bangkok--28 Nov--Stuvik Racing Project The iconic Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, UAE, hosted the Formula One World Championship finale, which the GP3 Series was supporting. Sandy and the Trident team were struggling to find the best set-up, and the pace was off compared to the other races. Sandy qualified in 17th position, 1.2 seconds from pole, his Trident teammates all had a comparable pace and this would make it a tough weekend right from the start. Ready to fight however, Sandy started Race 1 with new tires as Sandy decided with the team to save a set of tires in qualifying in order to have an advantage in the race. Thinking that degradation would not be an issue, Sandy pushed his Pirelli Supersofts a bit too hard on the opening laps and paid the price later in the race, where he would finish 15th. Sandy started Sunday's Race 2 from 15th position, with the knowledge gained from yesterday's race Sandy started to make his way up the field. Unfortunately in the skirmishes Sandy had a minor collision with another vehicle and dropped many positions. He would eventually finish the race in 18th position. 'It's not the ending to the season we wanted, we have normally been much faster than what this weekend has shown. Now I will focus my energy towards planning my 2017 season, and I will be fighting harder than ever to be back on the podium.' Sandy is supported by Singha Corporation, The Pizza Company, Dacon Inspection Services, Thai Airways, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand, and the Sports Authority of Thailand.
