Last Friday, Business Studies students attended the Ocean Marina Boat Show in Pattaya to support and give context to our learning.
It was an action packed day with so many highlights to mention. We began the trip thinking about areas of marketing that we might see in action on our tour of the boat show. We then had a tour of the marina from the habour master and he explained how the marina generates revenue, why they hold the boat show and who they are targeting with their various products. We were also lucky enough to see their boat production facility and noticed that the catamarans we saw being built were an example of Job Production.
The day linked in well with our Marketing unit but also Production. The staff at the boat show were very knowledgeable about their products and it was a unique opportunity to see 'behind the scenes' of a very successful business. The trip ended on a high with an evening sail on a beautiful catamaran. This was the best school trip ever!
