Government Lottery Office (GLO) hosted a dinner reception and prize-giving for winners of the International Dinghy Class and winning keelboat and multihull teams on race day four of the 30th Phuket's King Cup Regatta. The Government Lottery Office (GLO), in its second consecutive year of sponsoring the Phuket's King Cup Regatta, hosted the post-race presentation, with excellent food provided by Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa.
The Phuket Dinghy Series concluded today, having provided some enjoyable viewing for the sponsors all week. Results as follows: Optimist winner, Paliga Poonpat; Optimist Boys winner, Saranwong Poonpat; Optimist Girls winner, Paliga Poonpat; Laser 4.7 winner, Aryhit Romanyk; Laser Radial winner, Apiwat Sringam; Laser Standard winner, Keerati Bualong; 470 winners, Navee Thamsoontorn/Nut Butmasari; 420 winners, Suthon Yampinid/Nopporn Booncherd.
The excellent support offered by Government Lottery Office for this year's Regatta, especially for the International Dinghy Class, has bolstered GLO's vision for delivering corporate social responsibility programs in line with its mission to improve the lives of Thai people through sport and sports education.
Lt. Col. Hnoon Sansanakom, board member of the Government Lottery Office (GLO), spoke of the reasons behind the GLO's decision to continue to support the Phuket King's Cup Regatta as strategic partner: "The main benefit we appreciate through association with the Phuket King's Cup Regatta is the ability to support our investment in sports in Thailand. It's about giving back to Thai society, not deriving a profit or meeting a certain KPI. It is a policy of the GLO to support sports in Thailand, and more specifically sports education. With sailing, it's a sport that was beloved by HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Our association with the regatta supports the GLO's CSR objective of contributing to the wider society in Thailand, improving the health of people (especially young people) and promoting positive and worthwhile experiences for everyone through sport."
Kevin Whitcraft, President of the Phuket King's Cup Regatta Organizing Committee, said, "The Phuket King's Cup Regatta Organizing Committee would like to thank GLO for the support it has provided for the 30th Phuket King's Cup Regatta, a second consecutive year of sponsorship. Phuket King's Cup Regatta has been supporting youth sailing as a sport since we introduced the Phuket King Series in 2010. We collectively take novice sailors regardless of their background from various sailing clubs and provide training to a point where they are able to compete. What you see here today with the dinghies racing and challenging each other is a culmination of that program. We are delighted that GLO is so committed to improving the lives of young Thai people through investment in sports programs and sports education."
