Unilever Thailand announces that Ms. Supattra Paopiamsap, currently Chairwoman for the company, will become a non-executive Board member of Unilever Thailand effective April 1, 2017. Mr. Robert Candelino, currently Vice President of Marketing for Unilever's North America Haircare business, will succeed Ms. Supattra as Chairman of Unilever Thailand.
Ms. Supattra became the first Thai female to assume company leadership as Chairwoman of Unilever Thailand. With over 25 years at Unilever, Ms. Supattra reflects all the strengths of Unilever's talent strategy, having work experience across geographies including China, Malaysia, and Singapore, and recording several accomplishments. She made significant contributions in category and market roles, especially putting in place the strong foundation of the ice cream business in Thailand that remains today.
Ms. Supattra will continue in her current role until March 31, 2017, when she hands over her responsibilities to Mr. Candelino. She will remain actively involved with Unilever Thailand, supporting the new Chairman, to maintain Unilever Thailand's strong and sustainable growth momentum.
Mr. Robert Candelino, presently Vice President of Marketing / General Manager for Unilever's US Haircare business, becomes Chairman of Unilever Thailand on April 1, 2017. He has been with Unilever for over 20 years, gaining considerable experience in multiple functions across geographies including Canada and the United States, as well as general management roles across the globe.
With his extensive experience and many industry awards, Mr. Candelino is well placed to lead Unilever Thailand. Supported by Ms. Supattra and all Unilever staff in Thailand, he will make a strong contribution to the Thai business while driving Unilever Thailand's growth.
