The unveiling of Ville Fantastique II, a stunning sculpture, which was created and donated to Bangkok by the late Thai-based world renowned sculptor Valerie Goutard (Val) took place recently at Benjasiri Park, Bangkok. The ceremony was presided over by Mrs. Wanwilai Promlakano, Deputy Governor of Bangkok, H.E. Mr. Gilles Garachon, French Ambassador to Thailand, and Dr. Jingjai Hanchanlash, President of Alliance Française Bangkok
Before her passing, Val gave this sculpture as a gift to Thailand in order to thank the Thai people for their warm welcome and great support. She had always wished to provide people with access to sculpture at a public space. At Benjasiri Park where Ville fantastique II is now permanently installed, her wish is coming true.
