Mr. Anand Panyarachun and Mom Rajawongse (M.R) Sonsri Panyarachun (spouse) donate 500,000 Baht to support 'AIDS – Almost Zero' Program to the Thai National AIDS Foundation President Dr. Manit Theeratantikanon. Mr. Anand Panyarachun also accepts to be an honorable advisor for the 'AIDS – Almost Zero' Program to ensure continuous government-private-and-civil society partnerships to end AIDS in Thailand in the next 14 years or in 2030 so that there will be no more new HIV infections in the effective and sustainable way.
** About AIDS – Almost Zero **
AIDS – Almost Zero is the coalition of more than 30 civil society organizations working in partnership with the philanthropic private (business) sector on AIDS response under the 'AIDS – Almost Zero Committee. UNAIDS provides technical support for this Committee. Thai National AIDS Foundation (TNAF) is the focal point to raise funds and provide grants to organizations submitting proposals on AIDS response in line with the same standard of the Global Fund to End AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM). This is a domestic adaptation of the mechanism to achieve the common goal. The 'AIDS – Almost Zero Committee' has been fully capacitated to implement the program by receiving capacity building and skill training from the GFATM under the "result-oriented, measurable, transparent and accountable" standard.
