SOLARIS Asset Management Co., Ltd., successfully closed another high-yield fund after settlement by SOLARTRON PLC of a 200 Million Baht B/E.
The Bill of Exchange issued by SOLARTRON for 200 million Baht was bundled into SOLARIS' 6-month S-PFI fund and became due in April. SOLARTRON, experiencing a delay in being awarded a large electricity generation project, requested a delay in settling its B/E to the 4th of May, 2017.
"The outstanding B/E from SOLARTRON was settled on the 4th of May, and investors in the S-PFI 6M6 fund have fully recovered their investment," a source at SOLARIS said. "As with all cases, the business operations, feasibility, and future projects of B/E issuers are screened carefully before they are accepted and included in SOLARIS' high-yield funds," the source continued. "With proper financial instruments via a regulated capital market, good companies such as Solartron can balance their costs and usage of funds more effectively as they finalize their participation in large-scale projects backed by government entities or major corporations. Access to such funds comes at a premium, and our investors benefit from such premium rates," the source explained. "It really is a win-win situation; companies can continue their operations and successfully meet their project deliverables time lines, while investors who understand the potential downsides are ready to invest in funds that will earn them higher returns."
Solartron PLC., designs and manufactures solar panel arrays for large-scale electricity generation projects which require high up-front inputs.

The S-PFI 6M6 fund issued by SOLARIS in October, 2016, had a maturation date of April, 2017.
