Prior to his Thailand appointment, Mr Qiang worked in Beijing as China Regional President, in charge of the eastern provinces of China. In 2012, he was assigned to Hangzhou as Managing Director of Huawei's Representative Office in Zhejiang Province.
Mr. Qiang comes to Thailand with international senior management experience after several years in Africa, where he held key positions in Cape Town, South Africa, in charge of the Software Products Department from 2006 to 2008, as well as in Nairobi, Kenya from 2008 to 2010, in charge of Product and Solution Department of Eastern Africa. He was also named MD of Huawei's Representative Office in Congo, Central Africa, to head there.
"Huawei is experiencing tremendous growth in the country, and I am very happy to accompany Thailand, one of our most important markets, in its target to become the ICT hub of the region. We will continue to invest sustainably and to provide our full support to help the Thai people, using the most innovative and competitive ICT technologies, products and solutions. We are committed to work in close cooperation with all partners including the government, the ICT industry and all sectors of society to help the country in the development of a digital economy and Thailand 4.0," said Mr. Qiang.
Huawei has been welcoming ICT students and entrepreneurs to the Customer Solution Innovation and Integration Experience Center (CSIC) and Training Center in Bangkok since May 2016. These two state-of-the-art facilities are excellent venues for teaching young minds how to create, validate and build ICT solutions and applications. In addition, Huawei's first Open Lab, to be inaugurated soon, aims to support our partners toward digital transformation and to be an incubator for Thai SMEs and startups that will contribute to the development of Thailand's digital economy.
