Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien has won an International Hotels Award for being one of the best sustainable hotels in the Asia-Pacific region.

Requiring rigorous testing of the key quality and service requirements to identify hotels that reach the highest standards, the awards are a mark of achievement for the world's finest hotels.
Plaza Athenee Bangkok, A Royal Meridien was the first hotel in the world to achieve ISO 20121 certification for planning and delivering sustainable events and passed the stringent recertification in 2016. The hotel has also adopted a policy of supporting Thai farming communities and the environment by only serving certified organic rice they produce. The hotel has also implemented extensive measures to conserve energy and water consumption, from installing LED lighting throughout to using recycled water for toilet flushing.
