As part of the SCB Bankers Academy "Myanmar Banker Leadership Program," Siam Commercial Bank recently welcomed a team of 30 financiers from Myanmar participating in the Young Executive Class on a study tour to observe and learn from actual financial environment in Thailand so they can apply the knowledge to their banking business in Myanmar. On this occasion, SCB Head of the International Banking Function Mr. Kamalkant Agarwal (4th from right in seated row), First Executive Vice President and Dean of the SCB Academy Mr. Worawat Suvagondha (3rd from right in seated row), and Head of Strategic Management Ms. Teerin Ratanapinyowong (3rd from left in seated row) welcomed them and conducted a session on SCB performance in an era of rapid financial change. The visitors were also given an opportunity by the Bank of Thailand and the Stock Exchange of Thailand to visit their organizations. The program was a cooperative effort between SCB, the Myanmar Banks Association, and Thammasat University, designed to enhance the capabilities of Myanmar financiers.
Mr. Kamalkant said SCB continues to support Thai and Myanmar companies from Thailand and Singapore in the absence of a full branch license. The bank is very pleased to be able to contribute to Myanmar especially in the area of human resources development as it directly helps in the development of the country.
