KASIKORN BUSINESS-TECHNOLOGY GROUP (KBTG) announced three winning teams of new-generation developers for the Code Track, Data Track and Design Track categories under the "TechJam by KBTG 2017" competition. With support of KBTG and its partners including Google Developers and the Faculty of Architecture and Design, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, the winners are granted with air tickets and all expenses for a trip to participate in workshops in Silicon Valley, plus other prizes of more than 3 million Baht.
Prof. Dr. Pairash Thajchayapong, KBTG Chairman, explained that the TechJam by KBTG 2017 was organized to offer a platform for persons with outstanding ability in programming, data science and UX-UI design to showcase their potential. Under a human-centric AI theme, the competition in its first year emphasized technology development to respond to today's lifestyles. In the online audition round, there were 594 participating persons in 421 teams, comprising 219, 146 and 65 teams in the categories of Code Track, Data Track and Design Tract, respectively, which were screened to 159 persons in 95 teams in the final round.
Activities in the final round involve a pitch contest with the judging committee of KBTG Google Developers, lecturers from leading universities, and IT experts. In this round, participating teams will be narrowed to three finalists in the three tracks based on different criteria. They include: 1) Code Track, wherein contestants are required to solve numerous problems using the specified API, and the judging criteria are accuracy and efficiency of the program; 2) Data Track, in which contestants are challenged by complex problems and data, while accuracy and efficiency of the model is the criterion for judging; and 3) Design Track, which focuses on design for the future life that is blended with disruptive technologies, and contestants are evaluated for their creativity, innovative ideas, technology application, as well as team passion and determination.
The three winning teams of TechJam by KBTG 2017 are as follows.
1. Code Track: The winners are Ms.Perajit pasupat and Mr.Thanabhat koomsubha
2. Data Track: The winners are Mr.Tanipon wattanaasakit and Mr.Noppameth noeimuangpak
3. Design Track: The winners are Mr.Pattaya Upara and Mr.Sappawish Siripon
The winning teams in each track are entitled to a study trip and workshops in Silicon Valley, the information technology community, to gain once-in-a-lifetime experience with Google. The awards include round-trip air tickets and all necessary expenses in the United States for the winners and prizes for the first and second runners-up, more than 3 million Baht in total.
TechJam by KBTG 2017 is a product of collaboration with our leading partners to promote innovations of new technologies such as Chatbot artificial intelligence, in-depth data analysis and mobile app designs by providing a stage for the contestants including students and the general public to showcase their ideas and creativity, sparking new ideas of up-and-coming innovators.
