Samui Festival 2017 sets Guinness World Records for Largest Buffet

Bangkok--22 Sep--TAT Inter PR Division The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Ko Samui's public and private sector have successfully set Guinness World Records for Largest Buffet during the Samui Festival 2017. The 2.5-kilometre-long beach buffet, free and open to the public, was arranged on Chaweng Beach yesterday as part of the five-day festival, which run from 7-11 September to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the island's founding in 1897. A variety of Thai dishes prepared by chefs from all over Thailand was the highlight of this Guinness World Records for Largest Buffet on Chaweng Beach, Ko Samui. The activity is in line with the TAT's gastronomy tourism efforts by promoting Thai food and the country's culinary potential on a global stage. Representatives from some of the event's organisers, Mr. Noppadon Pakprot, TAT Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business (2nd from left); Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, TAT Director of Events Promotion Division (right); and Ms. Piyaphorn Phetkaew, Managing director of Chaweng Garden Beach Resort celebrate the Guinness World Records for Largest Buffet achievement with Mr. Dong Cheng, The official Guinness World Records™ judge adjudicating.
