Epson reaffirms its status as Thailand's leader of inktank inkjet printers and projectors with the launch of L-series printers & Smart-series projectors today. These new products are introduced as Epson taps further into the enterprise sector in response to SME/startup expansion. To complement the launch, Epson stages the interesting "Imagination to Future Business" showcase to highlight the brand's outstanding technologies and products that are designed for not just greater business advantages but also upgraded digital lifestyles.
Mr. Yunyong Muneemongkoltorn, general manager of Epson Thailand, reveals that, "Epson's inktank inkjet printer and projector businesses, on the overall, have achieved satisfactory successes. In the second quarter of this year, the cumulative global sales of Epson's L-series printers have already reached 20 million units. Here in Thailand, L-series sales have continued to grow with 44% market share in the inkjet printer sector now. Epson has also done remarkably well in projector sector. In term of sales, Epson has been the No. 1 projector brand for 16 consecutive years already. Across the world, Epson's projectors have claimed 35.5% market share. In Thailand, Epson is also the ultimate projector leader with its market share rising to 45% in the first half of 2017".
"We plan to maintain the momentum and actively expand our customer base in the latter half of the year. As parts of our strategy, new inktank inkjet printers from L-series and Smart-series projectors are introduced to accommodate the business expansions of not just large enterprises but also mushrooming SMEs/startups. The new product launch also comes at the right time for government agencies, which will start a new fiscal year soon and will need to invest in some new devices," he adds.
Unveiled today are six new L-series printers: L405 the multifunction four-color Wi-Fi printer and L4150, L4160, L6160, L6170, and L6190 that leverage water-resistant pigment black ink to great effects. The highlights this time are L6160, L6170 and L6190 because they are equipped with new PrecionCore-based Micropiezo print head. Thanks to the advanced technology, these new models can handle large printing jobs at a fast speed and a low cost. Each color page costs just Bt0.13 while each B&W page costs just Bt0.05. Moreover, they boast auto-duplex and borderless-printing functions for paper size of up to A4.
Mr. Yunyong continues that, "Today, business enterprises have made very careful decisions on which printers to buy. They look for value-for-money, low printing cost per page and much more. They expect their new printers to work at a faster speed without any drop in quality. They also hope the devices will be easy to use, connects easily with Wi-Fi, use quality ink, and deliver long-lasting, beautiful printouts. Despite their high expectations, Epson printers can satisfy all their needs. Our devices are durable. In terms of performance and printout quality, we outperform our competitors as all Epson printers come out of Epson-operated factories. Assembly and quality control is done solely by Epson".
"Of all manufacturers, Epson presents the highest number of inktank inkjet printer models. With as many as 18 such models by Epson in the market, customers can easily find what suits their best. They can go for the printer that responds well to both their budget and printing volume. There is no need to worry about printing cost per page either. Using pigment black ink, new printers can offer a higher page yield, compared with 6,000 pages per one ink bottle in the former models to 7,500 pages".
"In addition, Epson is the only manufacturer to include an automatic duplex printing function in printers. Created by Epson, this function saves paper cost by 50 per cent for office users. So, it proves perfect for offices that have these days tried to cut down on paper usage. All printer models launched by Epson today also come with a smaller size, thus saving office spaces. They, moreover, come equipped with Error-free and Spill-free Ink Refill System. Unique bottle nozzle design ensures only the correct color bottle can be slotted into the correct color tank. To prevent spill risk, these printers ensure ink flows out of bottle only when the nozzle is inserted into the tank. To give even greater value for money to our customers, our printers are sold with two-year warranty," Mr. Yunyong says.
For the projector market, Epson unveils seven new models from the Smart series. Coming with the brightness of lower than 4,000 lumens, these devices work perfect for small meeting rooms at SMEs, educational institutes and co-working-space facilities. These new models are EB-S05, EB-S41, EB-X05, EB-X41, EB-W05, EB-W41 and EB-U42. Their lamp is brighter and boasts a longer use life, up from 5,000 hours to 6,000 hours in normal mode and 10,000 hours in Eco Mode. These new projectors have Direct Power-On and Auto Power-On features, allowing the automatic detection of input or signal source. There is also a Home Screen button to enable users to set their frequently-used functions on the easiest-to-access screen. Work will then flow much smoother and faster.
All these seven new projectors have Wireless feature. So, they can connect to a computer or any smart device. Through the connections, users can activate Epson's proprietary iProjection software. EB-U42 has a built-in wireless system. So via Wi-Fi Direct and Miracast, it can project Screen Mirroring from the screen of any compatible smart device. It boasts Multi PC function too, with the capacity to connect with up to 50 computers, smartphones and tablets at the same time. Compatible with both Android and iOS, it can simultaneously project content from as many as four connected screens.
On the marketing strategy for these new products, Mr. Yunyong says, "As market conditions and consumers' lifestyles have now changed faster than ever before, technologies have to evolve as fast. Technologies must get better and become more efficient so as to exceed consumers' expectations. Our latest product launch reaffirms Epson's solid potential in this regard. It underlines the fact that we have constantly improved our printer and protector technologies. Epson Thailand has now drawn up the 4Cs strategy in support of the just-launched products too. The first C stands for Customer Solution. This means we are going to present various Epson products as business solutions for enterprises in all industries. Such product presentation will give target customers a clearer picture of what Epson products can do and how they can complement each other. Such tactic should be better than selling Epson products separately and focusing on price competition. It's best to present solutions because they will really benefit customers".
"The second C is Customer Value. This component places an emphasis on the value that customers will get from Epson products. Epson hopes to give business enterprises, regardless of their sizes, the devices that create business value and maximum benefits for them. Epson seeks to deliver cost effectiveness, a lower operating cost, time-saving, convenience, quality, and peace of mind from excellent after-sales services and product warranty. The third C stands for Convenience Channels. It is about reaching out to all target groups via capable distributors that have solid understanding of business enterprises' needs and also extensive experiences in Epson technologies. Only such distributors can advise customers in all aspects about Epson products," he adds.
"The fourth C is Communications. By communicating with our target groups, we can present our value and empower our brand. Marketing communications, moreover, can boost both sales and customers' confidence. For our latest product launch, we stage the "Imagination to Future Business" showcase to visualize how Epson technologies can add value to various future businesses and answer real well to the lifestyles of digital-age people," he elaborates.
"The Imagination to Future Business features five zones namely property-industry zone, educational-institute zone, business-organization zone, MICE zone and retailers zone. At this event, customers will find new ideas about how to leverage Epson technologies for their businesses. For example, a home theater with projector will complement a housing project. Museums will prove more interesting if they embrace Mapping and Augmented Reality (AR) technology along with Epson's Moverio smart glasses. In restaurants, Epson's projectors can impressively present menu and promotional information via digital signages. At points of sales, Epson's portable receipt printers will also prove practical," Mr. Yunyong concludes.
