Coinciding with the end of the monsoon season this month, SALA Hospitality Group is inviting guests to explore the beauty and intimacy of Thailand's two leading beach destinations with romantic excursions designed for two at its properties in Phuket and Koh Samui.
Guests at SALA Phuket Resort and Spa have access to luxury motor and sailing yachts for charter so they can cast away into Phang Nga Bay, a spectacular corner of the Andaman Sea characterised by towering limestone karsts. The most famous of these is Koh Tapu, better known as James Bond Island thanks to its role in The Man with the Golden Gun. Guests can also set off on a romantic sunset cruise of Phang Nga Bay on a lovingly restored Chinese junk boat.
Couples who prefer to stay within the SALA Phuket resort grounds can enjoy a number of activities for two. They can start the day with a champagne breakfast, flitting between gourmet treats and the private pool. Later, they can lovingly delight in a 90-minute Spa Enchantment couples massage and drift into bliss together.
Come evening, a private gazebo on the beach is the perfect place for an intimate culinary experience. While couples dine, resort staff create a candles and flowers surprise so they return to a romantic scene of rose petals floating in the pool and sprinkled on the bed, with tealight candles placed around the pool, bathroom and bathtub in their villa.
Over on the Gulf of Thailand, guests of SALA Samui Choengmon Beach Resort can indulge in a full range of marine excursions to explore the island's surrounding waters. They can book a private sunset sail for two aboard a luxury catamaran, or a hire a private long-tail boat to tour the famous Five Islands, a cluster of islets off what's known as Koh Samui's "Virgin Coast". For a chance to explore Angthong Marine Park, guests can charter a private speedboat to explore the cluster of islands with a few snorkelling stops to experience the underwater wonderland.
Back at the resort, a sea of candles flicker with the sea breeze, mirroring the twinkles of the star-lit sky above. Whether it's a special occasion with a special someone, or just because the moment takes you, couples can let the world melt into the background as they enjoy a romantic private dinner for two right on Choengmon Beach. The stunning beach set up is complemented by a choice of five-course gourmet menus.
Twice a week on Sundays and Tuesdays, romance fills the evening sea breeze after dinner during SALA Starlight Cinema when the resort screens movies on the beach from 9 p.m. onwards, complete with bean bags and complimentary popcorn.
