Gulf Energy Development, one of Thailand's largest independent power producers, constantly commences commercial operations of its power plants. Recently, Gulf TS3 power plant with an installed capacity of 129.9 MW has successfully distributed 90.0 MW of electricity to EGAT in accordance with the 25-year power purchase agreement from Nov 1. Moreover, it has sold electricity and steam to industrial users through existing purchase agreements of 32.8 MW of electricity and 25.0 TPH of steam.
Mrs. Porntipa Chinvetkitvanit, President of Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited ("GULF" or "the Company"), revealed that GULF has submitted additional set of filing to the SEC to update the latest status of its projects. In light of recent developments, the company has achieved the development of Gulf Tasit 3 ("Gulf TS3" or "GTS3") power plant and commenced the commercial operation (COD) to distribute electricity to Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on schedule. The GTS3 power plant is a Small Power Producer (SPP), in which capacity sold to EGAT is between 10 MW to 90 MW, and located in Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, Tasit district, Pluak Daeng town, Rayong province, Thailand, on approximately 40,000 sq.m. of land owned by the power project.
The GTS3 power plant began its construction from August 1, 2015, completed the construction on October 31, 2017 and has commenced it commercial operation to distribute 90.0 MW of electricity to EGAT in accordance with the 25-year power purchase agreement from November 1, 2017. Moreover, it has sold electricity and steam to industrial users through existing purchase agreements of 32.8 megawatts (MW) of electricity and 25.0 tons per hour (TPH) of steam. The GTS3 power plant is a gas-fired cogeneration facility with an installed power generation capacity of 129.9 MW and installed steam generation capacity of 25.0 TPH, comprising of 2 gas turbines with a capacity of 46.5 MW each and 1 steam turbine with a capacity of 37.0 TPH.
Thanks to success of the execution, the Company has had 13 gas-fired power projects and 4 rooftop solar projects in operation with a total installed capacity of 4,772.1 MW.
