Bangkok--8 Nov--AirAsia
AirAsia continues its push in the Chinese market by introducing 2 new routes, flying direct from Don Mueang-Chengdu and Phuket-Kunming to bring its Thailand to China network to 22 routes across 14 cities while also increasing flight frequencies from several Chinese locations to accommodate expansion in Chinese travellers to Thailand.
Ms. Kathleen Tan, AirAsia's President of China, said the airline views China as an important and high potential market, and its strong growth has driven AirAsia to continually expand its flight network to accommodate the highest number of customers possible. The 2 new routes of Don Mueang-Chengdu and Phuket-Kunming should match the demand of many travellers. The new additions are already available for booking and will start flying from 1 February 2018.
AirAsia is introducing the routes at promotional fares with Don Mueang-Chengdu starting at only 1,990 THB per trip and Phuket-Kunming starting at only 1,790 THB per trip. Bookings can be made today until 19 November 2017 for travel between 1 February 2018 and 23 March 2018 at www.airasia.com
The 2 new routes are to benefit both Thai and Chinese travellers as Thai tourists have grown increasingly fond of visiting China, while Chinese tourists in return favor visiting the Kingdom, especially as AirAsia allows them to go beyond Bangkok to provinces such as Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket with ease.
On top of the new routes, AirAsia is also increasing its frequency of flights from Bangkok to several Chinese cities. Don Mueang-Xi'an, Don Mueang-Kunming and Don Mueang-Guangzhou will all have their frequencies increased from 1 flight per day to 2 to reflect the ever-growing demand for travel between Thailand and China.
"AirAsia flights to China enjoy a Load Factor average of 87 percent, a very satisfactory figure, and we hope that these new routes will see the same response as they offer the quality service that had us named World's Best Low Cost Airline by Skytrax for 9 years in a row," Ms. Kathleen added.
AirAsia began flying to China in 2004 and entered Chengdu in 2009 with Chengdu-Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, a route that continues to operate 1 time per day and maintains a Load Factor average of 86%. All in all, AirAsia Group's network in China comprises 55 routes across 19 cities.
