Bangkok--27 Nov--PRDD TPARK recently achieved Gold LEED(R) standard to support its corporate policy in expanding eco-friendly warehouses continuously. Capable of reducing energy costs by more than 50% and water consumption by more than 40%, the green warehouse facility enhances the quality of life as well as the physical well-being of warehouse operators. The company is confident that the LEED-certified warehouses will garner a positive reception from its customers. Currently, Ford operates the facilities as its new Parts Distribution Center in Thailand. Mr. Virapan Pulges, Chief Executive Officer of TICON Group as the parent company of TICON Logistics Park Co., Ltd. (TPARK), Thailand's leading provider of international quality rental warehouses and distribution center said "TPARK has received the Gold Level of LEED(R) standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), America's leading agency in defining green building standards. The warehouse was developed to meet the standards of the LEED Core & Shell Rating System (LEED CS), which applies specifically to rental buildings. The new TPARK Bangplee 4 facility is used as Ford's new Parts Distribution Center in Thailand, which approximately covers 26,000 square–meter storage space that can be extended to 79,000 square-meters in the future to support its growth." Mr. Santi Jitpichitchai, ASEAN Part Supply & Logistics Operation Director, Ford ASEAN, stated: "Ford invests 100 million baht ($3 million) to open a new Parts Distribution Center (PDC) at TPARK Bangplee 4 to help support the company's servicing of customer vehicles nationwide more efficiently and effectively as Ford's growth continues in the market. The new PDC has full access to Ford's parts inventory across all 9 Asia-Pacific markets to locate and retrieve part, enhancing the availability of any service part needed. This Gold LEED(R) certified warehouse will also help improve Ford's facility management with building energy efficiency improvements and also help conserve environment." The LEED(R) CS standard assessment result proved that energy consumption efficiency of its buildings increased by over 53% compared to standard warehouse by using the advanced technology of energy saving devices such as skylight roofing which enable 97% light transmission, LED lighting, solar panels, and electric system in the building to monitor energy consumption in accordance with the ASHRAE standard (internationally acclaimed energy consumption efficiency standard). In addition, water consumption of the building was less than warehouse in general by over 43% and water usage of the landscape is less than 60%, for example by planting trees that need less water. The internal ventilation system was designed to meet the ASHRAE standard in order to enable enhanced energy-saving while increasing quality of life of building users. For this reason, we are confident that the LEED-certified warehouses will garner a positive reception from customers, who are leading organizations in their respective fields with genuine care for the environmental sustainability. "TICON has been focused on the development of eco-friendly buildings since 2014. Our corporate policy considers natural resources and the environment to be elements of great importance along with community development. One of our main goals is to make our factories and warehouses capable of achieving excellence in energy efficiency and environmental protection in every stage of operation – from design and construction to full-scale industrial operation. Previously, TICON Group achieved 3 LEED certified sites including factory in the Asia Industrial Estate (Suvarnabhumi), warehouse in TPARK Bangna, and later in 2016 at TPARK wangnoi 2 which is classified under the Silver LEED(R) standard." Mr. Virapan concluded.
