Bangkok Bank hosted the Board meeting of the Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) at the InnoHub Space at Bangkok Bank's head office on Silom Road.
Executive Vice President Ian Guy Gillard (seated, 2nd from left) welcomed and joined the meeting with the Chairman of the Board of BIAN Steve Van Wyk.
Mr Van Wyk is also Executive Vice President and Head of Technology & Operations at the PNC Financial Services Group in the USA. Other BIAN Board Directors joined, including top IT executives from ABN AMRO Bank, Microsoft and IBM.
Bangkok Bank, as a member of BIAN, hosted the board meeting The meeting focused on software interoperability for financial services, with particular focus on standardized Application Program Interfaces (API's).
The Banking Industry Architecture Network (BIAN) is an independent not-for-profit association that promotes a world-class architectural framework for banking interoperability. BIAN standards are available as Open Source. There are four main member groups including many of leading financial institutions, leading software vendors, banking industry service providers, and academic institutions such as Carnegie Mellon University in the United States.
