Photo Release: Esso (Thailand) is awarded AMCHAM’s CSR Excellence Recognition Gold Level

Bangkok--14 Dec--Esso The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM) awarded Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited with its "Gold Level" recognition for corporate social responsibility. U.S. Ambassador Glyn T. Davies (right) presented the 2017 AMCHAM Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Recognition Gold Level award to Chairman and Managing Director Mr. Jeremy Osterstock (middle) of Esso (Thailand) Public Company Limited. The presentation ceremony took place at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok The AMCHAM CSR Excellence (ACE) program was established to raise corporate social responsibility commitment, share best practices, and provide recognition to AMCHAM members who demonstrate an understanding of the important linkages between business operations and society. The program recognizes companies that conduct business in a way that creates long-term economic and social value. Esso was recognized with Gold Level status for having received the ACE award for 8 consecutive years In 2017, Esso emphasizes on advancing science education in Thailand at all levels. An example of key activities included a joint program with the National Science Museum on STEM Maker Day camps which inspired over 300 students to adopt the thinking process of science, technology, engineering and mathematics by learning from interactive exhibitions and hands-on experiences. In addition, Esso provided 70 scholarships to university students in engineering, science, technology, and energy through Esso-Rattanakosin Bicentennial Scholarships. Furthermore, by organizing the Science Project Contest with the Science Society of Thailand and Vocational Education Commission, Esso provided a venue to encourage scientific inventions among vocational students from over 400 institutions nationwide.
