The Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited, the expressway and metro service provider, led by Dr. Sombat Kitjalaksana, Managing Director, has signed a cooperation agreement with TrueMoney Company Limited, Thailand's leading e-payment provider, represented by
Mr. Punnamas Vichitkulwongsa, Group CEO of Ascend Group and CEO of TrueMoney. The two companies will jointly develop an electronic payment service for the MRT .
The cooperation entails the development of electronic payments, starting with purchasing and topping up MRT tickets at counters with an e-wallet, followed by the development of online and mobile payment services. This cooperation will also expand payment services to shops in Metro Malls via the TrueMoney Wallet in order to improve the metro service by increasing payment speed and convenience. Thus, the cashless society will be taken one step further. This cooperation reflects how electronic payment services can help leverage the public transport service, providing innovative services as a global standard.
