Ms. Kulaya Tantitemit, Inspector General of Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance's Spokesman, announced the government fiscal balance for the first 5 months of fiscal year 2018 (October 2017 - February 2018). The government has received 894,012 million baht in revenue. The government budget disbursement was at 1,378,010 million baht. To finance such deficit, the government has borrowed 214,900 million baht. Therefore, the treasury reserve at the end of February 2018 was at 189,327 million baht.
Ms. Kulaya concluded, "Fiscal balance in the first 5 months of fiscal year 2018 remained sufficiently strong for disbursement, due to higher government revenue collection and higher capital expenditure disbursement, which bodes well for future economic growth."
