Ms. Kulaya Tantitemit, Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Finance's Spokesman stated that the government's net revenue collection during the first fivefour months of fiscal year 2018 (October 2017 – January February 2018) was 738908,345 210 million baht, 2839,381 440 million baht or 4.05% above the target and 1.83.1% higher than the same period last year. This was mainly due to remittances from state-owned enterprises and , revenue collection from other agencies and the Excise Department that exceedinged the targets by 1214,994 898 and 1214,747 884 and 1,251 million baht, or 34.50.0% and 17.98.8% and 0.7% respectively. Moreover, the collection of petroleum tax, vehicles tax, and other revenues of the Excise Department and corporate income tax were significantly above the targets by, to the tune of 5,943 3,750 2,212 1,955 and 1,906 1,426 million baht or 6.5283.0% 470.08.9% and 1.2394.6% respectively.
Ms. Kulaya added concluded that, "The government's net revenue collection in the first four five months of fiscal year 2018 remains higher than the target. Moreover, the government's various economic stimulus packages have bolstered domestic consumption and imports, which bodes well for the government's net revenue collection for the rest of fiscal year.", mainly due to remittances from state-owned enterprises and revenue collection from other government agencies. For the rest of this fiscal year, the Ministry of Finance expects the revenue collection to reflect robust economic activities."
