Sunway Theme Parks in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia Bangkok organised a Sunway Theme Parks Showcase at the Crystal Ballroom (Lobby Level), Holiday Inn Silom, Bangkok with approximately 100 members of travel trade and media in attendance.
An initiative by Sunway Theme Parks and Tourism Malaysia, the showcase provided a platform for industry players to meet and network with Sunway Theme Parks and Tourism Malaysia marketing and PR heads. "It is an opportunity for hoteliers, tour operators, tourism products operators, destination management companies and airlines services to receive updates on tourism's latest development as well as news and product enhancement on two iconic theme parks in Malaysia" quoted Mr. Abdul Haris Hadi, Director Tourism Malaysia – Bangkok Office. He added that Sunway Theme Parks was part of the showcase as both Sunway Lagoon and Sunway Lost World of Tambun have been top of mind destinations for Thai travelers both groups as well as FITs.
A welcome note was delivered by Mr. Abdul Haris Hadi, Director Tourism Malaysia – Bangkok Office who quoted "The showcase is meant to promote the updated Sunway Theme Parks products and services in Malaysia with the aim to encourage Thai tourist arrival to Malaysia as we have set a target this year of 1.9 million tourist arrivals from Thailand."
Angeline Pasqual, General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Sunway Theme Parks added "In line with Tourism Malaysia's promotional strategy to create greater awareness of Malaysia as a tourist destination, Sunway Theme Parks objective it to present an overview of our products and services in order to create and develop tour packages that will include the theme parks as a preferred destination for leisure as well as MICE groups."
A presentation on both theme parks were delivered followed by a Q&A and networking session.
