In line with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's new global brand strategy 'Drive Your Ambition', Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.'s booth at the 39th Bangkok International Motor Show 2018 will showcase the technologically-advanced Mitsubishi eX Concept –
a vision for a compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) powered by a next-generation Electric Vehicle (EV) system. The hi-tech concept SUV is a representation of Mitsubishi's take on the future of SUVs, advanced drive and powertrain systems and electrification. It is also in alignment with the motor show's concept 'Revolution in Motion'.
"'Drive Your Ambition' is our new global brand strategy. It is the logical development of our brand essence and describes an attitude since Mitsubishi's first car more than 100 years ago." Mr. Morikazu Chokki, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., said during his opening speech at the motor show.
"With this kind of rich and unique heritage of Mitsubishi Motors, we holistically renewed our brand strategy to shape the future by combining an adventurous and progressive mindset we have. This will bring new values to the things we do. This will allow us to continue to be the pioneer and leader in our fields." Mr. Chokki concluded.
Further testament to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's 'Drive Your Ambition' brand strategy can be seen at the automaker's booth, with a lineup consisting of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Limited Edition, Mitsubishi Triton Athlete Mega Cab Plus and the Mitsubishi Mirage Limited Edition.
Other popular models from the automaker's lineup including pickup trucks, SUVs and city cars will also be on display.
Mitsubishi eX Concept
The Mitsubishi eX Concept is Mitsubishi's vision of an SUV for the not-too-distant future, powered by a next-generation EV system. Its design, with the front incorporating Mitsubishi's Dynamic Shield design concept, is meant to evoke a sense of sporty crossover while design cues hint at nimbleness and superior driving dynamics. The overall execution of the Mitsubishi eX Concept indicates the direction Mitsubishi Motors is taking for future SUVs.
The next-generation EV system uses a high-capacity, high-performance battery with compact high-output electric motors to make the whole system lighter and more efficient, with a cruising range of 400 kilometers. With its Twin Motor 4WD and S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control*) integrated vehicle dynamics control systems, the next-generation SUV will provide superior handling and control. Other high-tech features include automated driving combining connected car technology, utilizing next-generation information systems and advanced active safety technologies.
Inside, the Mitsubishi eX Concept have different coloured dash and door trim for the driver and passenger sides to create a new-look ambiences. The interior is designed to be spacious and sporty yet refined, with an augmented reality (AR) windshield that displays various driving information. These include satellite navigation, vehicle-to-vehicle distance alerts, lane departure warnings and information on fixed or movable traffic signs acquired by the camera-based road sign recognition system. The AR windshield is fitted with Caution Tracking that employs driver assistance technology using vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-road and vehicle-to-pedestrian communications to display guidance and warnings.
Another feature is the Intelligent Display that provides a portal to a whole range of driving information. It can also search information through a smartphone or PC via a cloud computing infrastructure. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) function will make recommendations based on its knowledge of the driver's interests and preferences.
The Mitsubishi eX Concept offers a glimpse into the future of SUVs with a combination of innovative technologies and engineering excellence. It also underlines Mitsubishi's leadership in EV and intelligent integration of new and forward-looking technologies in future SUVs.
More Exciting Attractions
In addition to the concept SUV, visitors to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's booth will also get to see an SUV they could buy today. For enthusiasts who like a fully-equipped SUV, they will find that their requirements are met by the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Limited Edition. It comes with all the conveniences, safety features and technologies, including a Nanoe1 air purifier, seven airbags including front and side airbags for driver and passenger, driver's knee airbag, and curtain airbags up to third-row seats, a beige interior with piano-black trimming and a double seatbelt pretensioner with force limiter for the passenger.
Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Limited Edition also comes with glass antenna, high-contrast combination meter, eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle-shift, dual-zone automatic climate control and adaptive cruise control, in addition to a host of passive and active safety technologies. Fully-loaded with premium features and technologies, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Limited Edition is priced at THB 1,424,000 (an additional THB 15,000 for the Pearl White – body colour).
Visitors will also get to see for the first time, the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete Mega Cab Plus in addition to the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete Double Cab. Upgraded with 'Athlete' specifications, the pickup truck now comes with bold and sporty exterior, 2-tone seats with black and orange leather, and orange-stitching 'Athlete' logo. The identical orange stitches are on the seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped shift knob, door trims and floor mats. Other features include an immobilizer system with keyless operation and one-touch start system, rear-view camera with guiding lines and speed-sensitive auto-locking doors. Other features include auto air-conditioning, cruise control, Apple CarPlay2, smart phone connectivity with voice control, and steering-mounted audio controls.
On the outside, the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete Mega Cab Plus now features bi-xenon HID headlamps, daytime running lights and front fog lamps complete with 'Athlete' stickers and decals, and tailgate spoiler. The Mitsubishi Triton Athlete Mega Cab Plus is available at a starting price of THB 759,000 (an additional THB 7,000 for the Pearl White – body colour).
Fans of city cars will enjoy the Mitsubishi Mirage Limited Edition, available in two types of body colours: Red Metallic with Black roof and White Pearl with black roof. Accessories include black electrically-foldable door mirrors with LED side turning lamps and black rear spoiler with LED high-mount stop lamp. Inside, the Mitsubishi Mirage Limited Edition features black-red sport fabric seats, leather-wrapped shift knob and piano black/chrome steering wheel with red stitches. Convenience comes in the form of steering-mounted controls and Bluetooth connectivity, amongst others.
The Mitsubishi Mirage Limited Edition is also equipped with Active Stability Control (ASC), Traction Control System (TCL), Forward Collision Mitigation System-Low Speed Range (FCM-LS) and Radar Sensing Misacceleration Mitigation System-Forward RMS-Forward. All these are in addition to Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist, Hill Start Assist (HSA) and
ISOFIX mounting points. The Mitsubishi Mirage Limited Edition prices are THB564,000 for Red Metallic colour with black roof model and THB571,000 for White Pearl with black roof model.
In addition to an impressive product lineup, Mitsubishi Motors Thailand will also offer all models with the 'Ha Pee Doo Lae Dee Tueng Jai' (5-year Ultimate Care) promotion. The promotion will also be offered at Mitsubishi dealers nationwide, and ends at the last day of the motor show. The campaign includes free maintenance package and 24-hour roadside emergency assistance up to 5 years, 1-year free first class insurance, free warranty and maintenance service labour fee up to 5 years. Customers who book a vehicle at the motor show will also get a special gift in the form of a cooler bag worth THB 1,599.

The 39th Bangkok International Motor Show 2018 will be held at Impact Challenger 1 – 3, Muang Thong Thani. Public days start on March 28 through April 8, 2018.
