Teamwork restores the smiles which the floodwater washed away
AkzoNobel, the leading global paints and coatings company and manufacturer of Dulux brand recently organized "Dulux Brings Smile to School" activity to restore and revitalize Wat Rang Chorake School in the Sena district in Ayutthaya Province which was hit very hard during the heavy flooding in 2016 and late last year. The small school which was introduced by Raks Thai Foundation, with just two teachers, provides education to 56 students from kindergarten to Prathom 6 and, due to limited budget and resources, the school has never been fully restored since the flood.
The event assembled a dedicated team of almost 50 AkzoNobel volunteer employees, 30 students, teachers and several concerned local people to team up to refresh the damaged areas, which included a one-story wooden building, canteen/multi-purpose building, table sets, a terrace and walk way. The areas were renovated with bright, colorful paints from the new eco-certified Dulux EasyCare Plus paint, which offers school-friendly easy clean-ups and protection against bacteria and fungus growth on walls. As a lasting reminder of the teamwork and heroism of AkzoNobel volunteer employees, the canteen/multi-purpose building was decorated with a bright and colorful "City of Heroe" theme which is one of "Dulux Far Away Places" color concept. "The City of Heroes" wall depicts fun and joyful moment to kids.
Prior to painting day, AkzoNobel hosted Dulux Wooden House, a charity activity to mark the launch of "Dulux Far Away Places" painting kit at KidZania in January 2018. It was held to both inspire the imaginative play that's essential for a child's social, mental and creative development and to encourage children and parents to share their smiles by giving away dolls, books, educational materials and toys to those less fortunate children at Wat Rang Chorake School.
The painting, as well as the donated dolls, toys, books and stationery contributed by AkzoNobel employees and their families donated at "Dulux Wooden House" transformed the school, to the delight of the children, parents and teachers.
Apart from painting activities, AkzoNobel volunteer employees also spent time with the children, entertaining and engaging them in color drawing and playing fun games for skill development.

All the children, teachers and I are delighted by these wonderful activities. Moreover, we would like to thank you AkzoNobel's employees who donated books, toys and other much-appreciated. Everyone is excited and wants to learn and play at the school with this fresh and creative environment."
