To provide free car engine inspection for 25 items at 57 participating PTT service stations, 47 Pro Check, and 34 FIT Auto nationwide from today till 5 April, 2018in preparation for road trip during the upcoming Songkran holidays
Dr.Siri Jirapongphan, Minister of Energy, presides over the opening ceremony of PTT Engine Tune Up 2018 for energy saving along with Mr.Auttapol Rerkpiboon, Chief Operating Officer, Downstream Petroleum Business Group, PTTPLC to create awareness of car inspection for safe travel, energy conservation and air pollution controlfrom today till April 5th, 2018.
Dr.Siri said that the Ministry of Energy recognized that car maintenance was an important factor of road safety for long distance travelling so PTT Engine Tune Upwas a preventive solution. This project encourages Thai society to be aware of road safety by having a routine maintenance for more efficient engine performance and energy used, so they will be ready to travel during Songkran festival and enjoy the happiness of family gathering.
Mr.Auttapol said that PTT has organized PTT Engine Tune Up since 2004 with the purpose of reducing car accident by scheduling a routine inspection which resulted in 5% saving of fuel costs, reduction of air pollution due to less emissions, and elimination of extra heat that helped lessening climate change. This program gave an opportunity for 399 vocational educationists both teacher and student nationwide to spend free time on community service during summer break while earning some extra money.
