Mr.Tevin Vongvanich, President & Chief Executive Officer, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) and Dr.Sutthipol Thaweechaikarn, Secretary of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) presided over a press conference on Songkran Travel Insurance (10 Baht –Microinsurance) to encourage Thai people to have a personal accident insurance especially during Songkran festival at PTT head office.
Mr.Tevin stated that PTT would like to express our gratitude and care to all 3 million PTT Blue Card members who always support PTT products and services by offering free Songkran Travel Insurance from Dhipaya Insurance to assure safe travel and accident protection. Dr.Sutthipol unveiled that Songkran Travel Insurance or 10-Baht insurance was a new approach in the industry to introduce affordable insurance in consumer goods and service business. OIC joined with large consumer goods companies to offer 10-Baht insurance during Songkran festival. The entrepreneur will pay the insurance premium to participating insurance companies and offer insurance to customers who purchase products and services according to each company's condition without charging insurance premium. Therefore, people will receive 10-Baht insurance by only spending on goods and services at participating companies' marketing programs.
For PTT, Songkran Travel Insurance, an accident insurance during Songkran holiday, will be offered to PTT Blue Card members who fill a gas at PTT stations and register from today till 30 April, 2018 to show concern and appreciation to the customers.
"OIC always care for the safety of people's life and property who return to their home or travel during the holiday. We promote an awareness on driving with care, no alcohol, adequate rest, and well-being of the driver and car engine on the road. Importantly, all drivers should strictly follow the traffic rules and check the insurance policy and expiration date of compulsory automobile insurance (Act). In the event of accident involving injury or any damages to the car would be covered subject to the conditions of the policy," Dr.Sutthipol said at the end.
