The Good Governance awards were established by four national bodies, namely the Puey Ungpakorn Institute for Economic Research, the Bank of Thailand, the Institute for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, and the Thai Bankers' Association, to honor small and medium-sized enterprises with transparent operations and good governance. Bangkok Bank regularly nominates its customers for the awards after taking into consideration three major aspects – their management of employees, consumers, and society and the environment. Consequently, the bank's customers have received this prestigious award for four consecutive years.
