To encourage Thai people to take regular exercise for good health, WACOAL MOTION and the Wacoal Pink Ribbon breast cancer awareness campaign jointly launched the WACOAL MOTION Virtual Run Series 2018 project, Thailand's first series of distance-accumulating charity run under the theme of "Run for Our Beloved Women". The project comprises three running events over five months and aims to raise funds for the Oncological (Cancer) Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen to support underprivileged breast cancer patients at the National Cancer Institute. Entry is open until 30 September 2018.
The WACOAL MOTION Virtual Run Series 2018 promotes health care through regular exercise and consists of three running events – 'Lady's Run', 'Run for Mom' and 'Run Against Breast Cancer' – to be organised from June to October 2018. Each run is open to people of all ages and they can freely determine their own running distance, date, time and venue.
Thai Wacoal Plc said: "The main objective of this project is that we want to see everyone in society break their unhealthy habits and do something good for themselves and others. In joining this project, they will become physically stronger thanks to regular exercise, and they will provide the opportunity to live longer for fellow humans."
One hundred baht from each entry fee paid for each running event will be donated to the Oncological (Cancer) Society of Thailand to help underprivileged breast cancer patients at the National Cancer Institute, as breast cancer is the most common cancer in Thai women. Statistics in 2011 showed that 12,613 women, or 34.5 persons per day, were diagnosed with breast cancer.
Entry for all running events is open now until 30 September 2018. Entry fee is 450 baht per event and a discount of 150 baht is given to those who apply for all three events. Lady's Run is open to all women and their male loved ones. It will take place from 16 June to 30 October. Run for Mom will take place from 11 August to 30 October. Run Against Breast Cancer will take place from 7 October to 30 October. Running results will be accepted during the period of each event.
Runners who participate in all three events with a combined running distance of more than 30 kilometres will receive a specially made WACOAL MOTION Finisher medal. For more information and entry application, visit https://race.thai.run/events/wacoal-motion-series.
