Bangkok--22 May--Siam Commercial Bank
SCB joins forces with Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine and 'Too Fast to Sleep' to launch new "TOO FAST TO SLEEP.SCB" intellectual community open 24/7
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) is taking another step toward becoming a leading lifestyle bank with a firm commitment to innovation development to meet customer demands in the digital era. The bank recently joined with Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine and the Too Fast To Sleep cafe to launch the first "TOO FAST TO SLEEP.SCB" location in the Northern region. Located on the second floor of Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine SCB branch, the new space covering more than 400 square meters has been transformed to serve as a community center allowing students and the public in Chiang Mai to spend time reading, meeting, or group working. This co-working space has been designed to fit the lifestyles of the new generation demanding space for studying 24 hours a day. SCB customers can use the space free of charge by simply showing an EASY application or an SCB debit, credit, or credit card.
Speaking about the launch, Siam Commercial Bank Head of Commercial Banking Solutions Mrs. Pimolpa Santichok said that, "This joint-effort has its origins in SCB's intention to support and promote the new generation, especially students, who will soon play an integral role in the development of the nation. It will provide opportunities and alternatives for these learners to better hone their skills amid a radically changing world. SCB has worked with Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine and the Too Fast to Sleep cafe to offer a co-working space to serve as an intellectual community. This concept is truly in line with SCB's policy and purpose, while greatly supporting the new generation."
Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine Dean Professor Dr. Bannakij Lojanapiwat added that, "TOO FAST TO SLEEP.SCB" has been formed from the shared perspective of providing a useful space and facilities for Chiang Mai University students, including other medical personnel and the public in Chiang Mai and nearby areas. The concept is also in line with the vision and mission of the faculty, as Thailand's leading medical school, to produce graduates of upstanding international standard quality, to organize healthcare research, to provide standard quality health services, and to preserve and nurture our cultural heritage and natural environment.
Too Fast To Sleep's founder Anake Chongsathien noted that, "Too Fast To Sleep" is based on the idea of providing reading areas and co-working spaces available 24 hours a day since Thailand still does not have these types of public venues without closing time constraints, particularly nowadays when everything happens so fast with the Internet. The new generation lives in a digital era requiring an intellectual community that can accommodate users in every aspect, from study places for students to meeting places for working people to boost healthy creativity. With a common objective, Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine, SCB, and Too Fast To Sleep recognized the importance of having this co-working space for our maximum benefit. It is a great concept that can truly serve society. Too Fast To Sleep is delighted to be a part of this fruitful partnership to create TOO FAST TO SLEEP.SCB at Chiang Mai University's Faculty of Medicine."
Located on the second floor of SCB's Faculty of Medicine Chiang Mai Branch and with a total space of more than 400 square meters, Too Fast To Sleep.SCB can accommodate more than 180 service users. It contains a coffee shop with a library atmosphere and seats divided into zones which have been nicely designed. Apart from beverage and bakery service available 24/7, it also features Wi-Fi service and electrical outlets for charging electronic devices. To enter TOO FAST TO SLEEP.SCB, users can simply show their SCB EASY app on their smart phones, an SCB debit / credit card, or an SCB account passbook.
