Agoda, one of the world's fastest-growing online booking platforms, has teamed up with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to promote domestic travel. The campaign, running from now through to 30 September 2018, aims to increase the volume of domestic travel to 160 million trips, with a focus on weekday and low season travel.
Agoda has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand for three years running, and this year will incentivize travelers with an extra 15% discount on rooms for bookings made using a domestic IP address to destinations including Khao Yai, Samui, Chiang Rai and more. Travelers can find out more on Agoda's bespoke landing page https://www.agoda.com/tat. Different destinations will feature over the next four months:
- JUNE travelers are encouraged to explore authentic local experiences in off-the-beaten track destinations, including Khao Yai, Khon Kaen and Udon Thani.
- JULY entices island escapes to the Gulf of Thailand for a dose of sunshine in Samui, Phangan or Koh Tao.
- AUGUST promotes the discovery of history and heritage on the nation's heritage route in the seaside town of Hua Hin, the old capital of Siam, Ayutthaya and the compelling history of Kanchanaburi.
- SEPTEMBER inspires a return to nature with the lush, mountainous northern destinations of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Pai.
The campaign aligns with Agoda's research, which revealed that 86% of Thais surveyed say they'd like to explore more of their own country. It also revealed their favorite activities when on holiday were enjoying nature and scenery (78%), indulging in food and dining (71%) and sunbathing, island life and beaches (66%). With this campaign, Thai travelers will find it easier than ever to explore their own country and everything it has to offer.
