Recently, Ms. Podchaneeporn Chamnanpukdee, Vice President – Human Resources, "KTC" or Krungthai Card Public CompanyLimited, organizes an educational event, "KTC invites students to roam the city and learn about culture through folkways", at SuwannaramTemple and Trok Khao Mao Community Folk Museum for juveniles studying at the 6th grade level at Wat Rach Singkorn School, located in Bangkok area. The event was held for students to learn more about Suwannaram Temple's history, culture and practices that have been carried on from the past to the present. In this occasion, students had a chance to watch a demonstration of a horse racing known for a votive offering, a local belief that remains sacred and perpetuated by villagers until the present day. Students learned more about Buddhist Jataka tales through mural paintings within the hall of the temple, paid respect to the Statue of King Taksin, viewed and listened to stories of the Baan Khao Mao community which have originated since the Thon Buri period. Additionally, students participated in the furthering the culture by cooking Khao Mao food and desserts, including Thai sweet pop rice (Khao Mao Mhee), roasted pounded unripe rice (Khao Mao Raang), and Thai sweet cereal bars (Krayasat), all of which are commonly known as, and attributed to "The Khao Mao community." Lastly, students watched a demonstration of Khao Mao Mhee preparation, an ancient snack produced by the intellect of locals from the Ayutthaya period, and toured a local museum with a collection of tools and equipments from antiquity, a cultural legacy that is to be passed down from generation to generation. Mr. Paisan Injan , Vice President -Cultural Learning Center in Historical Area (Thonburi) enacted as the lecturer, jointly with Master Sergeant, First Class Somkiat Dasa , Principal - Wat Rach Singkorn School, who attended the event at Trok Khao Mao Community Folk Museum, Bangkok Noi.
