Bangkok--21 Jun--AirAsia
AirAsia, the world's best low-cost airline, is bringing the world's first ever Freedom Flyer Programme – designed to reward loyal guests with an easier, faster and better way to earn BIG Points and redeem AirAsia flights – to its guests in Thailand.
First launched in Malaysia, the overhauled loyalty programme powered by AirAsia BIG Loyalty features a unique membership status system based how often guests fly, regardless of how much they spend on fares or how far they fly. The more you travel with AirAsia, the faster you will level up from Red to Gold, Platinum, and ultimately, Black. The higher the status, the more BIG Points you will earn, allowing you to fly farther to more than 130 destinations across Asia Pacific.
Every BIG Member starts with Red status to earn up to 2 BIG Points per 10 THB spent (subject to foreign exchange fluctuations based on 1 MYR). Gold members earn up to 4 BIG Points, Platinum up to 7 BIG Points and Black up to 12 BIG Points. Additionally, long-haul and Fly-Thru flights count as two one-way short-haul flights for membership status qualification purposes, making it doubly rewarding to travel with AirAsia X.
AirAsia Thailand CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya said, "Our guests are the core of what we do, and we want them to be able to reap greater rewards from travelling. This brand new programme gives our guests more opportunities to enjoy privileges as they fly around the world with us, while making it more attractive to travel with AirAsia. The unique status system is specially designed for those who love to explore the region, either for leisure or business, allowing them to earn points faster with the freedom to redeem rewarding experiences."
AirAsia BIG Loyalty Country Head Ba-wornpak Wachirawarakarn said, "We are excited to deliver more value to our BIG Members in Thailand with the Freedom Flyer Programme. With this, everyone can now experience an easier, faster and better way to earn BIG Points to take their travel dreams further. BIG Points is truly as good as cash as BIG Members can now use it to pay for their AirAsia flight bookings."
"Pay with BIG Points" is the latest feature to allow guests with a minimum of 100 BIG Points to pay for their flight bookings on airasia.com. This opens yet another avenue for guests to utilise their BIG Points to enjoy even greater savings on AirAsia's low fares by paying less cash. Other BIG Member privileges include 90% off flights during monthly promotions like Final Call Sale and Final Call Sale X exclusively on the AirAsia BIG Loyalty app, plus 24-hour priority redemption for BIG SALE anytime, anywhere.
Also announced at the launch, Bangkok Bank AirAsia Platinum MasterCard Credit Card cardholders will receive a fast track automatic upgrade to Platinum status to earn up to 7 BIG Points for each qualifying flight they take. On top of earning more BIG Points, these newly-minted Platinum BIG Members will have exclusive access to Xpress check-in, Xpress boarding, 4 complimentary Hot Seat vouchers, a complimentary inflight drink and more.
Additionally, as an airline loyalty programme that goes beyond flights, AirAsia BIG Loyalty has over 160 partners worldwide, including Central, Lazada, Konvy, Looksi, Tesco Lotus to name a few, representing popular brands in Thailand that BIG Members can earn BIG Points from in order to redeem flights to their dream destinations.
