Bangkok Bank Vice President, Office of the President, Dr. Pao Sriprasertsuk said the bank supported and organized a booth in Techsauce Global Summit 2018. The event aims to promote and upgrade the technology ecosystem both in Thailand and Southeast Asia as well as to link entrepreneurs at all levels, investors and related parties, to startup business and investors worldwide under the concept of "The Future is Here … The Future is Yours". The event features special talks for global executives and technology specialists to exchange their ideas, a business-matching session for entrepreneurs, a startup pitching contest for more than 20 contestants from around the world, and a booth to provide useful advice on investment.
The bank's booth at this event was organized under the concept of "The Future of Banking" with the aim of featuring the bank's financial innovation and technology such as Future Trade Finance Solution and Bangkok Bank InnoHub. The booth also presents the bank's future steps in providing knowledge to startups in order to enable them to create products and services that meet the needs of customers and investors through Bualuang Ventures and PromptPay QR Payment for iPay technology.
The bank's executives and business partners also shared their vision in panel discussions including The Future of Trade Finance on the Fintech Vertical Stage. Bank executives were joined by executives from the R3 distributed ledger consortium. The discussion portrayed a future for Trade Finance in which technology would play a major role in making it faster as well as more secure and efficient. This will stimulate entrepreneurs to make their transactions via digital channels, especially international trade finance transactions.
Nest, a global innovation platform supporting entrepreneurs, is a partner in co-mentoring startups in the Bangkok Bank InnoHub Accelerator Program. The bank also has experts from MIT Sloan School of Management to offer knowledge about future innovation developments to corporates and businesses. In addition, Homeprise, a successful company with a new business model regarding a platform for home decoration and markets selling products for home decorations, will share its practical business experience.
