Bangkok Metro Networks Co., Ltd. (BMN) today signed an agreement with the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, allowing the latter to use space at its Khlong Toei MRT Station for the location of the first Legalization Office outside the Ministry's premise. The office will provide the public with more convenient access to the legalization service and support increasing demand among Thais and foreigners. The opening of the Legalization Office here marks a new milestone for the Ministry in making it services more accessible to the general public, following the high success of the opening of another passport office at the same MRT Station in 2016.
Mr. Chatri Archjananun, Director General of the Department of Consular Affairs, said, "The demand for legalization services for official documents has been increasingly significant among Thais and foreigners. As a result, people have to spend quite a lot of time at our Legalization Office at the Ministry's premise, not to mention time spent on the road. To facilitate the public better, the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, agreed with BMN to set up a Legalization Office at the Khlong Toei MRT Station.
"With this new office, we will be able to improve speed on legalization activities and efficiency in providing the service to those living in the inner Bangkok thanks to the well-connected electric train system," said Mr. Archjananun.
He added, "The opening of the Legalization Office bests addresses the Ministry's mission to expand the access to our consular-related services to other areas to improve efficiency and public convenience. The office also uses the latest innovation and technologies, such as online registration for legalization and online queue alert, which we hope, will increase convenience for the people and increase their satisfaction towards our services and expectation."

The Legalization Office at the Khlong Toei MRT Station provides legalization services to Thais and foreigners who have to submit their document in other countries. Open from Monday to Friday from 08.30 Hrs. – 15.30 Hrs., the Legalization Office provides three major services including 1) Certifying translation (from Thai to English and vice versa); 2) Certifying signature; and 3) Certifying document issued by Thai government. The service fee is 200 Baht per document/seal stamp.
