- 'ThaiNamthip's 60th anniversary logo design competition' invites Thai youth submit design entries that reflect the company's beverage industry leadership in Thailand, modernity and reach to next generation
ThaiNamthip Limited, the manufacturer and distributor of Coca-Cola beverages and other products from the Coca-Cola system in Thailand, today, 'revealed the winning designs from ThaiNamthip's 60th anniversary logo competition' and presented the winning designers Bht 200,000 worth of scholarships, further strengthening its leadership in the beverage industry as it makes a foothold into 2019 when it begins 60 years of operation. The logo designed by Mr. Jakkapat Tajun from Rangsit University's Faculty of Communication Arts was selected for the top prize and awarded a scholarship of Bht 100,000. The winning design were among more than 160 entries submitted by interested nationwide youngsters who took part in the competition.
All prize-winning designs were thoroughly selected by a 5-member judging panel. They include ThaiNamthip's executives Mr. Pornwut Sarasin, Chairman, and Mr. Dhongchai Siridhara, Public Affair & Communications Director, along with a group of art and design experts namely Jay Spencer, the well-known celebrity who is a creative-space developer and brand consultant, and Oh Futon (Hathairat Fingerhut), a chic with an original portfolio of product design for several global brands, as well as Ajarn Pitak Piyapong, an independent artist and visual art maestro who is Thailand's advertising guru. ThaiNamthip opened entries for the logo design competition for a month and a half from 16 July – 31 August 2018.
Mr. Pornwut Sarasin, Chairman of ThaiNamthip Limited, said, "After narrowing down the submitted entries, the management of ThaiNamthip and judging panel agreed that the design submitted by 'Mr. Jakkapat Tajun' from Rangsit University was worthy of the top prize for its ability to communicate the company's solid foundation as the leading bottler for the Coca-Cola system in Thailand and the region. The logo also communicates modernity, is practical to apply while its beautiful design of lined patterns and lettering are in synch with all groups of consumers and offers a fresher aspect to the brand"
"Throughout ThaiNamthip's journey from its inception in 1959 to its 60th year in 2019, we have remained committed to the community with activities we deemed beneficial to society and youth, as a whole. 'The logo design competition', a pilot initiative to celebrate 60 productive years that ThaiNamthip has stood side by side with the Thai people, offers Thai youth a stage to showcase their talent and unlimited creativity. Youngsters, specifically high school and vocational students as well as university undergraduates, were invited to submit their designs. We have also intended to highlight our youth's potential by customising the winning design into ThaiNamthip's 60th anniversary logo and will be used in advertisings throughout 2019" Mr. Pornwut added.
Mr. Jakkapat Tajun from Rangsit University's Faculty of Communication Arts, winner of ThaiNamthip's 60th anniversary logo design competition, said, "I'm glad to have won the first prize in the logo competition, and specially honoured that my design was chosen as the ThaiNamthip's 60th anniversary logo. I sincerely thank ThaiNamthip for giving Thai youngsters like myself this rare opportunity to express our creativity and talent, and recognising our potential. My logo design was inspired by how I look at ThaiNamthip. This organisation has been with the Thai people for so long that it has earned nearly 60 years of good will and it is among the business of the Coca-Cola system in Thailand. I intended to project the company's vision in my design with a focus on simplicity but with a solid background."
The seven design entries that have been selected to win cash prizes worth Bht 200,000 and certificates include:
