Children represent the future of a country's development, and they deserve not only a good education but also the right nutrition to help them grow and develop healthily. However, there are many underprivileged children who do not always have access to proper nutrition. To help address this problem, Grab Thailand launched the 'GrabFood for Good: Every Dish Makes a Difference' campaign, setting aside 10 baht from every GrabFood order to create a year-round lunch fund for three children's foundations including the Camillian Home for Children Living with Disabilities, The Foundation for Slum Child Care and Baan Nokkamin Foundation. To date, one million baht has been collected and donated to these foundations.
Grab recently held an event to present the donation to representatives from the three foundations. The Grab Thailand team along with GrabFood driver-partners visited the children in the homes to play games and have lunch with them.
Silada Rangsikanphum, Manager of the Foundation for Slum Child Care, said, "The children under our care are between three to five years old. Most of them come from underprivileged families who are poor and have no time to take care of them. They lack the means to provide the children with proper nutrition. This is why we focus our care on the nutrition and child development. I'd like to thank Grab for supporting the children with this lunch fund. I'm grateful that Grab together with their consumers are helping us to keep the children well-fed. The project is a reminder that the private sector has not forgotten about charitable foundations or the children who will grow up to become adults who drive the country in the future."
Chat Pokphol, GrabFood driver-partner, said "I'm very proud to play a part in a project that helps feed children in need. It makes me feel that I'm doing something meaningful for others. Since I joined Grab, I've always felt that the company goes the extra mile to creating a better society where people take care of each other. Grab also makes sure all driver-partners are well-taken care of as part of the Grab family and puts its efforts into the development of the society. I hope to join more good projects such as this one again in the future."
Suvadee Fuangkote, Country Public Affairs Manager, Grab Thailand, said that "Grab operates its business with a focus on improving the livelihood of people in the society. We believe that to move the society forward, people need to have good quality of life. This is why we encourage our staff, driver-partners, business partners, as well as our users to join us in activities that benefit the society in different ways. 'GrabFood for Good: Every Dish Makes a Difference' is one of the campaigns that shows the power of the Grab community as a force for good. We will continue to be committed to finding more and more ways to give back to society and provide a better quality of life for everyone."
