As a global technology leader, Ericsson currently holds a portfolio of 19 publicly announced 5G contracts, live-deployments in Europe, US, Australia, Korea and remains committed to leveraging the latest innovations to enable customers switch on 5G worldwide. In Thailand, this event will highlight new technologies including the future concept 'radios access network' products called Radio Stripes
Ericsson Radio Stripes come in a nearly invisible form factor, enabling truly ubiquitous high capacity radio everywhere. This is a visionary mobile network design that is super-distributed and has the potential to deliver better quality and robust radio performance while enabling easy and flexible deployment of mobile networks. The showcase also included a host of other demonstrations and use cases across 5G and IoT, including Ericsson Spectrum Sharing, Network Evolution and Architecture Evolution, Connectivity in Industry 4.0, Communicate on smart devices as well as Future of Mixed Reality.

Consumers in Thailand, are already waiting for 5G. According to a recent study carried out by Ericsson Consumer Lab in Thailand, one in two of the smartphone users in Thailand would switch mobile operators within six months if their own provider does not switch on 5G, while 40% of respondents expect 5G to be switched on within one year.
Ericsson's flexible, end-to-end 5G portfolio which includes the industry leading 5G platform, provides customers with the products and services needed to manage the increased traffic growth, simplify their operations and to secure their 5G revenues. In Thailand, operators are expected to benefit from an additional 2.6 BN USD from 5G-enabled market opportunities by 2026.
