For the fourth consecutive year, the Thaipat Institute announced the selection of Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited (CENTEL), the parent company of Centara Hotels & Resorts, as one of the top 100 publicly listed companies for outstanding Environmental, Social and Governance performance among companies in the services industry sector. CENTEL was selected from among a total of 771 publicly listed companies (excluding those that have been undergoing rehabilitation) included in the annual assessment produced by Thaipat's ESG Rating Unit.
The THAIPAT Rating Model has been guided by the Global Initiative for Sustainability Ratings (GISR) Framework and Principles for ratings excellence to assess performance based on ESG issues together with operating results. The Thaipat Institute, a pioneer in the development of Thailand's corporate sustainability database, began compiling its annual ESG100 lists in 2015 to recognise the 100 most outstanding ESG performers on the Thai stock market.
The ratings provide potential investors with additional information to allocate capital in a manner that is aligned with ESG considerations. Additionally, the list aims to present objectively measured choices to investors who are interested in quality firms and yields which are no less than what general investment methods offer.
