Bangkok--27 Aug--BASF BASF brought Kids' Lab, its entertaining and science education program to 700 children in Bangkok as part of National Science Week held at the King's Mongkut Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). Children conducted hands-on experiments under the guidance of BASF volunteers and KMITL students. "BASF focuses on supporting educational programs in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #4 – 'Quality Education'. We aim to help children understand the role of chemistry in our daily life by providing safe, enjoyable hands-on experiments," said Petrus Ng, Managing Director of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, BASF. Through the Clever Foodies experiment, children will learn how good food can contribute to a healthy lifestyle. They will also be able to investigate the substances contained in fruits and juices, as well as to understand the benefits of eating a colorful range of vegetables. In addition to the Kids' Lab program held at KMITL, BASF has also organized two workshops this year including the Virtual Kids' Lab booth in the German Pavilion at IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center, Nonthaburi province, and BASF Kids' Lab at Kaennakorn Witthayalai School where BASF partnered with a key distributor Khon Kaen Fishing Net in Khon Kaen province. This was the first time Kids' Lab was held in the North-East region of Thailand. The program's online platform, "BASF Virtual Kids' Lab", offers children the chance to be a scientist at home. For instance, they can learn more about enzymatic degradation as well as the various nutrients contained in food through "The Sweet Bread" experiment. Under the expert guidance of the Kids' Lab's mascot, Dr. Bubbles, children can explore the world of chemistry anytime, anywhere. About BASF Kids' Lab Education is the key to the future of our children, and it plays an important role in the development of society.
