Toyota Holds the 13th Dream Car Art Contest Awards Ceremony

Bangkok--30 Aug--Delphys Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota) today held an Awards ceremony for the 13th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest at Toyota Motor Corporation, Nagoya office, where the winning entries were announced and the awards were presented. Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Outline The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, first held in 2004, gives children around the world a hands-on experience to feel the joy and importance of having dreams. It is also meant to provide children with an opportunity for developing an interest in cars. Thanks to the support and cooperation of the children around the world who draw/paint their works and send them in, and of the distributors and affiliates who organize local competitions in their respective countries or regions, the contest marked its 13th year in 2019. Entries in this year's contest numbered approximately 950,000 from 86 countries and regions. The award-winning entries (see attached) were selected among the winners in the national contests. National contests were held around the world from October 2018 to March 2019, with the winning artworks submitted to be judged for the world contest. In April, besides Toyota Motor Corporation, art experts and automotive specialists from outside Toyota judged the entries and selected the award winners in the contest's three categories by age. Gold Award (1), Silver Award (1), Bronze Award (1), and Best Finalist Awards (6~7) by age category Three age categories: "Age 7 and under," "Ages 8-11," and "Ages 12-15" Special Awards The Engineering Inspiration Award, The Waku-Doki Award (newly established) General Evaluation of the 13th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Artworks This year as well, we are amazed with the artworks. They came from such a unique and diverse idea out of your daily struggles and experiences like no adults have ever come up with. They are so innovative and exciting that we are delighted with them. Because they deliver us important messages such as the passion to make the world a better place to live... the importance of life… and fun to drive. Special Awards Toyota Go Green Car Comment by Didier Leroy, Executive Vice President, Toyota Motor Corporation: The passion of making the air cleaner by a future car which is expressed in this drawing is our Toyota's goal to achieve. It totally matches with our vision that Toyota has the aim of going beyond zero environment impact, hoping to achieve a net positive impact. In that sense, this artwork is very inspiring in terms of giving us courage and creativity for further challenge. (newly established) A Car that is Fun to Drive Comment by Yumi Otsuka, EVP, GAZOO Racing Company, Toyota Motor Corporation: This year, we want to give our special award, "the Waku-Doki Award" to a work that fascinated us, with such a unique concept of a driving system that requires all the members to drive!
