H.M. the King and the Queen Preside Over the Rama 9 Museum, A New Learning Resource in Natural Resource and Environment of South East Region

Bangkok--17 Oct--National Science Museum H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindra Debayavarangkan and H.M. Queen Suthida preside over Rama 9 Museum at National Science Museum (NSM), Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathumthani on October 15, 2019, 05.00 p.m. General Prayuth Chan-O-Cha, Prime Minister, Mr.Pinit Boonlert, Pathumthani Governor , Dr.Suwit Maesincee, Minister, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHSRI) , Mr.Suchit Towisetkul, Acting Chief Justice , Commanding General Thawatchai Tangpitakkul, 11th Military Circle , Police Lieutenant General Ampol Buarubporn , Commissioner of Provincial Police-Region 1 , Assoc.Prof. Soranit Siltham, Permanent Secretary, MHSRI , and Asst.Prof.Dr. Rawin Raviwong, President of NSM receive and have an audience. H.M. King Maha Vajiralongkorn arrives the ceremony and light candle and sticks to pay homage to Buddha image. Asst.Prof. Soranit Siltham, Permanent Secretary, MHSRI as Chairman of NSM executive board offers him a program and commemorative book. Mrs. Gannigar Chen, Vice President of NSM offers the Queen a program and commemorative book. Dr.Suwit Maesincee, Minister of MHSRI presents a background of Rama 9 Museum establishment and invites the King to preside the museum. After the inauguration, the King offers four necessities to monks in the ceremony and pour water of dedication. Asst.Prof. Dr. Rawin Raviwong, President of NSM respectfully informs the King and requests a permission to invite 25 contributors of the museum establishment to have an audience and receive token of appreciation. Mr.Surawong Wongsiri, Vice President of NSM presents the King stones to affix the royal signature on. The King and the Queen afterward bid farewell to the monks and leave to the 2nd floor of the Rama 9 Museum for observing the exhibitions. The 3 main galleries in the museum are: 1. Our Home presenting the origin of universe, solar system, our planet, evolution of organisms and human being on earth at present. 2. Our Life presenting environment and adaptation of organisms and human in different 7 biomes as well as in Thailand. 3. Our King presenting H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great's wisdom, his thinking principles and operations in applying scientific knowledge to problem solution systematically. His wisdom and thought has been accepted and honoured both in locally and internationally. After the exhibition, The King and the Queen move forward to a reception room to sign on a commemorative book and with their highest kindness, give opportunity to take a picture with a group of MHSRI and NSM executives. The King and the Queen then leave the museum for the palace. Rama 9 Museum has been initiated to honour and memorialize H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great in occasion of his 80th Birthday Anniversary on December 5, 2007. The cabinet approved a budget of 1,890 million baht on July 2, 2014 for its construction. The main theme of Rama 9 Museum is "the Developer King and Sustainable development" to extend publicly King Bhumibol's thinking principle, method of operation and implementation with scientific-based solution to the problems of people in many regions of his kingdom. The museum is located on the area of 42 Rai (approx..7 acres) to facilitate a profound learning access in natural resource and environment. The knowledge and H.M. King Bhumibol's thinking principle in the museum will help cultivate universal thinking principle and operational method which can be applied to any other ecosystems and problem solutions in different geo-social factors and sustainable living with nature. Rama 9 Museum is a substantial learning resource of ecology and environment in the south east region and is ranked to be top three of the world. Rama 9 Museum is now located in National Science Museum cluster at Technopolis, Klong 5, Klong Luang, Pathumthani and will open its service officially in December 2019.
