Bangkok--21 Nov--Korean Cultural Center Korean Cultural Center in Thailand (Director Kang Younkyong) will organize exchange photo exhibition 'Phapthay Sajin'. Photographers from Thailand and the Republic of Korea attend during December 2, 2019 – February 28, 2020 at Gallery Hall, Korean Cultural Center. This exhibition starts from Korean Cultural Center announcing to seek for exhibitors at Korean Cultural Center. The selected exhibitor presents the 5 photo projects by 5 photographers from Thailand and Korea. Photographers from Thailand features contemporary photographer representative 'Manit Sriwanichpoom' and documentary photographer 'Suthep Kritsanavarin' cooperating with Korean photographers 'Sung Namhun' and 'Yoo Beylnam' including 'Kwon Hakbong' who participates in exhibiting the photos and directs this exhibition. Manit Sriwanichpoom is one of Thailand's leading photographers who shoots contemporary photos and expresses the social critical viewpoint through several artworks such as 'Pink Man'. In this exhibition, he brings photos shot in Korea that audiences can see 'Seoul' from the photographer's viewpoint and interpretation. Sung Namhun cooperates with Rapho, a French agency to shoot documentary photos which is helpful for public through the world's view and produces several works starting from 'The Unrooted' viewing Gypsies as strangers. In this exhibition, he will show photos of priests in Tibet in photo project called 'Lotus Well'. Suthep Kritsanavarin is a Thai documentary photographer who gets the attention from around the world from his Rohingya photos and he presents his artwork called 'Siphandone' recording the life of fishermen that have to fish with most dangerous for prolonging their life at Khone Phapeng Falls, Mekong River. Yoo Beylnam, Korean photographer who travels around the world to shoot documentary photos and attends many television programmes to make photo art understanding to ordinary people. He brings his artworks 'Bitgae' which reflects the pain in the incident on April 3 on Jeju Island, his hometown to show in this exhibition. Korean photographer Kwon Hakbong is the exhibitor, director and curator in this exhibition. He shoots ordinary and documentary photos. As he got married with Thai wife and he wants to build Thailand-Korea exchange, this exhibition happens. He brings his artworks 'Nangfha, look back on kingdom again' showing mythical creative of Sukhothai, Thailand's important historical city. Kang Younkyong, Director of Korean Cultural Center in Thailand discloses since Korean Cultural Center opened in 2013, the Center organized several kinds of exhibition but this would be the first time to organize Thailand-Korea exchange photo exhibition and hope this exhibition would make the two countries closer and causes photo exchange continually.
