Siam Teltech Computer Co., Ltd. or STCC, a subsidiary of Jasmine International Group specializing in designing turnkey computer work system, has been recently appionted as system integrator (SI) for IBM and Hewlett-Packard (HP), and ready to expand its turnkey computer work role into other sectors such as banking, transportation, industrial & manufacturing plants and telecommunications. The company has recently been awarded a project valued at 400 million baht from the Communications Authority of Thailand.
Mr.Komsan Siriwattanapat, President of Siam Teltech Computer Co.,Ltd., disclosed that the company earlier had been considered by various computer operators. He pointed out that the role of system integrator is to provide technology management, administration and full service; any SI therefore must have full understanding and capability to operate in all related fields. While STCC has the expertise on telecommunications and is fully equipped of telecommunications network through Jasmine International Group with its nationwide coverage, STCC therefore is positioned to offer better solutions for nationwide online system for its clients, Mr.Komsan said.
President of Siam Teltech Computer revealed that the company has adjusted its marketing plan from focusing on supporting its subsidiary in Jasmine International Group up to 70 per cent in the past to a 50:50 ratio in 1998, and by 1999 non-affiliated clients would take up to 70 per cent of STCC business leaving the remaining to its group subsidiaries.
Under the new approach, STCC's activities would concentrate on telecommunications markets, notably the Communications Authority of Thailand and the Telephone Organization of Thailand. STCC also designed and developed the Computerized Customer Service System (CSS) for the regional 1.5 million basic telephone lines being operated by Thai Telephone & Telecommunication (TT&T). Recently, the Communications Authority of Thailand has selected STCC to operate and develop its supportive telecommunications system, a project worth 400 million baht.
Other market segment targeted by STCC include banking, transportation, industrial manufacturing and production which today demand the services of computer technology and management. Specialized expertise and experiences are needed for individual segments and STCC is well positioned to service them with appropriate solutions. Experiences amassed by Siam Teltech Computer in many large-scale projects are an advantage in achieving its marketing objectives.
Mr. Komsan added that STCC also planned to play a role in the proposed Software Park project, as part of the 8th National Economic and Social Development Plan. The company is now in the process of achieving ISO 9000, that is, reaching excellence in management and operation. Personnel development is also high on its agenda in order to keep up with new know-how and technology.
