SCB presents Myanmar-Thai Business Matching Day to expand business opportunities for the Myanmar-Thai SME network

Bangkok--24 Dec--Siam Commercial Bank As part of its efforts to help promote Myanmar SMEs in Thailand, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) recently invited entrepreneurs from Myanmar to a Myanmar-Thai Business Matching Day. SCB hosted the business matching event between Myanmar and Thai SMEs to synergize each other's strengths and expand market and business opportunities among the neighboring countries. The event was hosted in the premises of the bank itself. The arrangement would help lay shortcuts for quicker business growth. Following the matching event, SCB organized a Myanmar Day 2019 shopping fair featuring over 20 products direct from the Myanmar owners. The fair was intended to create an opportunity for Myanmar entrepreneurs to directly promote unique and quality food and beverages, beauty products, and unique organic products to Thai consumers. It also enabled the Myanmar product owners to better understand the different behavior and needs of the Thai consumers. Earlier last week as a part of the program, SBC joined forces with the Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection (DISI) under the Minister of Planning, Finance, and Industry to hold a "SCB SME Training: Practical Guide to Export Myanmar Products to Thailand". The intensive training offered business tips for Myanmar SMEs to successfully exporting products to Thailand. The training included import/export laws and regulations, trade mark, conventional and digital marketing, distribution channels, and packaging design. Participants from various business sectors had joined and learned not only about in depth information on how to export product to Thailand but also learn about the Thai economic outlook and current consumer behaviors to further develop their business opportunities and growth in the future. The training was held in Yangon, Myanmar. The Myanmar-Thai Business Matching Day and Myanmar Day 2019 shopping fair event was honored by the presence of H.E. U Myo Myint Than, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Thailand and Mr. Win Tin, the National League for Democracy Economic Advisor joined by SCB President Mr. Sarut Ruttanaporn, Senior Executive Vice President, Chief SME Banking OfficerMs. Pikun Srimahunt, Executive Vice President and Head of the International Banking Ms. Apiradee Synsukpermpoon, and Chief Representative SCB Yangon Representative Office, Ms. Vitita Theeraporn
